Super Eagles midfielder Raheem Lawal is ecstatic over his first goal of the season for his Turkish Lig 1 side, Osmanlispor.
Osmanlispor defeated Mersin 3-1 on Sunday and Lawal was on target in the 90th minute, his first goal of the season.
The midfielder on Monday spok exclusively to Completesportsnigeria.com on his feat and objectives for the year.
"The goal yesterday (Sunday) is my first of the season and I hope to score more," Lawal said.
"The game was not as easy as the result suggests because Mersin were good. They defended very well but my goal just before the end of the game made it difficult for them to have any chance of salvaging a draw."
Speaking on his intention to play under Sunday Oliseh in the Super Eagles, the former youth international says he wants to be part of the Nigerian national team to face Egypt on March 25 and beyond.
"I want to be part of the Super Eagles surely and it will be nice to play in Nigeria against Egypt.
"Anyway we (Nigerian players) have to just do our best for our clubs and hope that is enough for the national team coaches to invite us, so for me personally, I'll keep working hard to improve my game and score more goals.
"I want to be part of the Nigerian national team this year and in the coming years," Lawal added.
The home-based Eagles players will resume camping in the first week of March with the foreign-based players expected to arrive as the first leg of the fixtures in Kaduna draw closer.
