Lazio have reportedly turned down Liverpool’s offer of Fabio Borini for Ogenyi ‘Eddy’ Onazi, but €10 million could change the club’s mind, according to reports in Italy.
Reports emerged on Saturday that Liverpool were interested in Onazi and had offered Italian striker Borini in a possible swap-deal for the Nigerian international, however, that has been turned down by the Italian side.
The Corriere dello Sport insists Lazio director Igli Tare rejected the offer, intending to keep hold of the 22-year-old talent.
Liverpool were linked with the 21-year-old last season and there have been suggestions they may include Borini in the deal to bring Onazi to Merseyside, with the Italian forward set for the exit door.
Borini was sent off against Arsenal last week and it is believed that it could be his last game for the club, with Onazi being used sparingly as well at the Olimpico this season.
Onazi admitted earlier this week that he would find it hard to turn down an offer from Liverpool and suggestions are that if Liverpool could add €10 million to Borini in their bid to bring in Onazi, then Lazio could accept the offer.
Rodgers attempted to land the midfield enforcer during the summer transfer window, but instead opted to move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Emre Can.
