  • Rohr has seen his deafness cost us advancement from the group stage.

ROHR refused to find a winnable fight.
He refused to ply a winning formation 3-5-2, with the right players.
He waited to loose the battle before begging Mikel and Moses to play in their natural positions.
I never knew that coaches beg players to play in particular positions.
I thought Rohr was in charge until he confessed that he had to beg them to play in their club positions.

  • Thank God.
Pls Lord help us till the end.
    In JESUS name.
    Amen

Ighalo don kill us jesus help

  • The coach killed this game. Alex should have come in for Iheanacho. Useless Ighalo, Useless Rohr

    • Bosco 3 months ago

I don’t know if Ighalo bribed d coach. I don’t know why d coach showed him preferential treatment

  • Am so sad we crashed out because of the coach ‘s deafness, Mikel’s selfishness and Moses’s selfishness.
Since Rohr decided to be a beger and not a coach, why did he not for one month of camp? Why wait before the whole world new you had no authority over your players?.Another wasted opportunity.

  • Abdulrazak 3 months ago

Gernot Rohr is a USELESS COACH. BLOODY USELESS.  He waited until Argentina scored their second goal before making good a change.

  • The coach should be fired and the nff officials

Is Ighalo a striker or a defender? We need a better striker henceforth. We could have buried this game when it matter most.

Ighalo, Ighalo, Ighalo. Ghenet Rohr Why?

Come back home fellas…..Ighalo retire, mikell retire

  • Oakfield 3 months ago

Ighalo has just finished us. Really can’t fathom the rational behind Fielding ighalo where we had better players on the bench. Can’t believe that all our calls not to play ighalo fell in the deaf ears of Mr rohr. He (Mr rihr) has got some questions to answer.

  • Rohr and Igalo did Nigeria in. Igalo missed 2 clear chances. Why did Rohr introduced him?

    Rohr must go!!!

  • This is the result you get when you have bastards in every alms of government in Nigeria. A useless coach and a stubborn bastard in Ighalo and Ihenacho. How can a professional in Ighalo missed such golden opportunities. It is though painful, very painful indeed.

  • Which coach in the world changes a winning team?
Ebuiehi was the missing Link. Your LB and RB’s are essential part of any attack force. You have a player considered one of the best in the league he plays for sitting in the bench, he made a difference at half time when he came on. But yet you don’t think he is a contributor to that victory because he did not score or what??
GR you caused us this match, from the line up I sense defeat, I didn’wanna waists my time watching. It was a lost before kick off.

  • Patrick 3 months ago

    Ighalo.hmhmhmhmhmhm.

  • I don’t understand why Rohr sub Iheanacho for Ighalo, why not Alex. All Musa needs is just a good support, Alex would have done the job better when there was no pressure. We all know Ighalo has been useless since before the tournament. The coach killed the game, he is a real saboteur

  • Ikeben 3 months ago

The coach stubbornness has finally cost us this winnable game. He stubbornly stuck to a stricker that has not scored in over 7 matches. He stuck to other formations when it was clear we perform better on 3-5-2. He only changed it when it was almost too late.

Well, the players their best, but their job is to play and not to coach.

  • If Siasia and Amuneke will agree to work with Thor, that will be our best option going forward.
This team with some addition and subtraction should win ,cup of nations 2019, Olympics 2020, and challenge for the world cup in 2022.
    Continuity is very important.
But am still mad at Rohr anyway.

    • As other African countries will just be watching us qualify easily abi? We lost a great opportunity here. Ighalo killed us…Musa is a world class player…Etebo too. The boys tried but it wasn’t meant to be. They were scared to some extent.

    • Emmanuel 3 months ago

      Spot on.

  • ROHR, not Thor pls.

  • The coach spurn a great opportunity today. Why does he keep bringing ighalo to games like these. Several opportunities and couldn’t score to save his life. Two elementary skool mistakes today. I said it that messi can’t have 2 bad games let alone 3. How could he be left wide open to be able to have 3 touches before scoring. U need at least two people close to him at all times. And why were we still pushing forward when we knew all we had to do was pack the bus and earn a draw. Everyone should have stayed back especially Moses. We have less than 10 mins to play we just pack the bus. GR messed up big time, bad changes and not communicating to his playing knowing Croatia was winning or even when the game was tied, he should have talked to the players and tell them we keep what we have. A draw would have sufficed today and am not sure he communicated this to the boys. I wonder what the assistant coaches are doing there. They should be telling him things and giving him ideas not just sitting there and barely contributing. Am very saddened by today’s event, we had this game in the bank. Loss of concentration coupled with poorer officiating as am such if it was a Nigerian dat headed the baĺl against his hand, a penalty would have been awarded.

God bless 9ja and its people

  • @abu, true talk. The coach killed d game

Rohr is fool and an idiot. He needs to be fired.

    Nig 1: 2 Arg

    Our boys gave their all.
    They tried

Prior to this game, I was sure afraid of a bias officiating but the centre referee did a very fair job.

I would have expected Iwobi to come in place of Kelechi and give Musa some quality support as well as help the midfield.

At 1:1 with 15 mins to go, Ebuehi would have come in for Moses and Ogu for Balogun…(my thoughts though) especially when we all know that with a Draw we will would have sailed to the last 16.

Like I said earlier, kudos to the boys, they played the game of their lives.

Let’s build for the future (Uzoho, Ebuehi, Ekong, Balogun, Ndidi, Omeruo, Aina, simy, Etobo, nwakakili, Moses, Iwobi ………). The future is bright !

    God bless Nigeria!!!

  • dont blame rohr..thruth is he went with a bunch of average players..he has tried all dese players…u guys end up blaming him for dis players underperformance..truth is most of our players are average the coach knows dis..he wants to bring in players but who does he bring in..the earlier we accept that even a mourinho will find it hard getting sometin out of this overhyped bunch the better

    • Well on contrary, good coaches bring out the best in any team, Average above or below selection and tactics make decision on how to play and get results from what you have at your disposal. But obviously you won’t see it that way because you are mediocre so coming to accept mediocrity work just fine by you.

    • Dr. Drey 3 months ago

Oga…I’m sorry…but u have no point there. Bruno metsu took debutant senegal made up of mostly french league players (1st and 2nd div) to the q-finals. Gus hiddink took a far less talented korea to the semi-finals of the world cup. Karim Fathi won bronze with an unfancied Turkish team in 2002. oran Stepanovic almost took ghana to the semi finals. All these teams were not more talented than ours. are more tactically flexible coach would have qualified nigeria from this group
The coach was the ultimate killer of this match. Pls of what value is a striker who has not scored or assisted a single goal in ur last 10 matches. We all saw Simy against Congo, just as we’ve been seeing him in the serie A. Even if he was to bring on a striker on in the 46th minute it shouldnt have been ighalo. We needed someone who could hold up play effectively upfront for us and we had a 2m tall simy who is built for that. Argentina coach brought on 3 attacking players to stretch our defence….wah was our coache’s response to that……Nothing. 3 tiring defenders against 3 attacking argentines + Lionel Messi. I would have expected a switch to a 4-5-1 or a 4-4-2 so that we can have 2 lines of defense and wide players who can drop back to provide support for the full backs. The less said of Ighalo the better. I can bet there is some kind of unholy alliance going on btw him and the coach.
I really feel for the boys. they gave their all. If only they had started giving their all from the very 1st match. Its just a reflection of how we like to do thing in nigeria….we leave things till wen its too late to redeem.

      • Only a lunatic like Dr Drey will make such a barbaric comment like the one above.
I keep saying that this clown knows nothing about football.

  • @abu, Rorh rilli killed dis game with dose late sub

  • Nigerians are the main cause of Nigeria unfortunates.
Before they start any match, so many cursed are put on them, but still, they want Nigeria to win.
This is not the coach fault neither referee that is biased.
The only solution to the super eagle’s mis-unfortunate is PRAYER FROM THE NIGERIAN, BELIEVE IN THEIR PLAYERS AND A TOTAL SUPPORT.

#i_am_a_good_Nigeria_ctizen and i believe in my country
    God bless Nigeria

Ighalo never improved from his u20 days in 2009…. had a few good seasons in England and that was it..

  • We need indigenous coach (I’m nt disputin d fact dat Rohr has tried), but d truth is a Nigerian coach would have don d needful at d tym dt matter in dis game.
Why nt making changes esp wen Aguero, Dybala n co. were sub in. It showd he wsn’t ready 2 win. Sub Idowu 4 Ebuehi, (d guy ws tired) so as 2 help in attack. Why Ighalo 4 Iheanacho, try Simy n let’s see. Iwobi too could partner well wit Musa better dan Ighalo.
To me, d coach cost us d match n must b FIRED! since d agreemnt ws 4 him 2 reach q/final.
    DONE DEAL!!!
Let’s train ur own coaches, dey can perform better.

  • Prince 3 months ago

    Nig 1: 2 Arg

At 1:1 at 10mims…and knowing the results of the other game, why not leave Musa up front, bring in Ebuehi for Moses and Ogu for Balogun…..lock up the midfield !!!!
Another concept I still can’t understand is why not Iwobi for Kelechi instead of Ighalo…..

We made this mistake in 1994…..and made same mistake in 2018!!!

10mins to go and the players and coach should have know that 95% of the job has being done … Sit back and run the remaining minutes and you will be in the round of 16 !!

Na when we go learn sef .. When !!!???

It is well….The future is bright !!

  • @Cuomo, I beg to differ, Rohr was our major problem.
IGHALO has no business in this match.
At 1:1. Remove two attacker, introduce John Ogu and Onazi, pack the bus.
OR, bring Iwobi, that goal IGHALO blew, Iwobi would have scored. Even Sammy would.
All these Kobo kobo Oyibo coaches, they can help us. Invest in our ex footballers.
    AMUNEKE AND SIASIA.

the coach was the worst player tonight

  • God go punish that referee

  • VAR was not to put their to favor an African teams, if you wanna win, it has to be fair and square against the giants. All hell with let loose if a lower ranking teams rated far 50+ in the FIFA world rankings gets nocked out one of the favorites to lift the trophy then it’s most be in a pararel universe somewhere, obviously not on this planet.

Nigerians let us forget about this match but at the sametime there are two things we should have in our minds. One is that we went to this competition with under-average players especially in the attack.Secondly, the refree refused to give a clear penalty to Nigeria. Here in Spain every radio station is saying that it was a clear penalty and that if it was argentina that had such opportunity that the refree would have given the penalty. That shows us that African countries at the world cups are merely there to complete the numbers of participating countries.I think it’s high time CAF should open up and tell these people that we know their tricks and do something about it.Finally, let us give our local coaches the chance to coach the national team .Watching this game everyone could see the laps of our coach. He has no hungry for the team to win because he is not a Nigerian and he came just for money.Just take an example from the senegal coach, always on his feet shouting to the players anytime he sees an error but Rhor never did that. Please let him go and let us manage our team.If he is too good enough the Germany football fedration will not let him come and coach Nigeria.Enough is enough.

  • For those who are blaming the coach and d player, if Nigeria had won today would you be saying this? To be fair to this man he did his best any sane mind that watched the match today will know that hard luck play out. Even coach like Mourinho, Guardiola etc bought the most expensive players yet they still fail to win some competition as well. Honestly it is hard to explain but just think we shouldn’t blame this man. Majority of those doing this are those that doesn’t like him before.

MY HEART BLEEDS AND IN AGONY..HW WE ALL WATCHED IN HORROR AND DESPAIR,OUR HEARTS ND EMOTIONS BROKEN BY GERNOR RHOR’S FORMATIONS AND TACTICS.HW CAN THIS COACH ALL ALONE DECIDE FOR US..200M NIGERIANS WATCHED HELPLESSLY WITHOUT ANY ASSISTANCE FROM EVEN NFF TECHNICAL COMMITTEE ADVICE AFTER HALF TIME.THIS MAN IS WHITE NOT A PURE BREED NIGERIAN.HIS ACTIONS BETRAYED US.I DONT KNOW HOW ELSE TO EXPLAIN THIS,BUT THIS IS YET AGAIN WASTED YRS OF OPPORTUNITIES. WITH A VERY CAREFUL STUDY AND READING OF THIS MATCH ARGENTINA WERE VERY VULNERABLE AND A SITTING DUCK TO BE KILLED OFF YET RHOR COULD NOT TAKE CHEAP ADVANTAGE. FIFTH COLUMNTIST HE IS.E DEY PAIN ME JOOR,CAN’T BEAR THIS PAINFUL AND AVOIDABLE LOSS

  • Ten minutes to go and Rohr could not fashion a simple strategy not to concede a goal. Football has long past the days of skills alone . . . STRATEGY. I have always suspected this Rohr of being a traitor. He is on the payroll somewhere else. WHY DID HE BRING IGHALO IN? IWOBI WOULD HAVE CONVERTED THE CHANCE THAT IGHALO BLEW.

  • @Tayo, would you field IGHALO ahead of Iheanacho?
Would yoh not bring on an extra midfielder at 1:1? Precisely John You?
Would you have played against Croatia in that manner?
We had our chance to kill the game, IGHALO blew it.
They had their , they scored.

  • @CJ forget this your analysis. u think is easy to say with mouth. if Nigeria had won would you be saying this? They were playing well until their goal in fact we even have d chance to score before that. As for Iheanacho he wasn’t playing well and he was duly substituted. It wasn’t Nigeria day let’s accept the truth and any coach in the world can loose a match like that way.He can’t kill himself. Though u can say whatever u like abt d coach but try to be fair in your judgement of him cos luck is matter in football and that was what against us today.

    • Thank you tayo….you are the only person here speaking without sentiment….In football someone must lose draw or win….Nigeria lost simple….its a game of 90 mins….its not the referee’s fault that Nigeria cannot defend like Croatia and Iceland did against Nigeria…

  • IGHALO is a yakubu.
I watched that miss over 5 times today.

    To God be the glory!!!
    Hmmmmmmmm…hmmmmmmm…hmmmmmmmm…
All I can say now is thank you Mr. Rohr and Mr. Ighalo. Hopefully, both of you can leave us alone now?

The future is bright right? From 2002 world cup to 2018? And from 2018 world cup to 2022, the future would still bright then because, coach Rohr is building the team for 2022 world cup ABI?

Ighalo would be our main striker comes in 2022?

Nigerians stop deceiving yourselves. What I have seen so far, we have a long way to go in this nation except we faced the truth.

However, we still have great players in Nigeria and abroad but the main problem we are facing is
    “corruption and politics”

If we can solve the problem, our country would be great again. Therefore, the only person we should blame is Mr. Rohr and he should be fired right away because, he would never have a sound team.

Imagine Simy were sitting on the bench throughout the world cup while Ighalo given chances upon chances, in the end, Mr. Rohr and his son Ighalo sent us parking. I said it here that Ighalo has a godfather behind him and Someone attacked me wrongly and now, who is feeling the pains,??? Nigerians.

Nigerians, this is the time we all need to wake up and ask yourselves wish way forward. Mr. Rohr may decides to go back to Germany or France but do we have anywhere to go??????? Remember no place like home!

So painful coach Rohr wasted the golden opportunity that God gave to us in this tournament.
    God bless Nigeria!!!

  • Rohr must go!!! He is a deceptive corrupt man bereft of sound skills as a coach. Why was he so stuck with Ighalo if he didn’t soil his hands? You keep fielding a player who had shown countless times that he cannot perform, and you tell me you are a coach? You assign players in wrong positions, and after they have flopped the first game, you announce shamelessly that you begged them to play in the rightful positions? If all the 23 players choose positions themselves, then what’s the need for a coach. The man has messed up big time. And he is being payed handsomely for toying with our emotions. Let him retire to a German village and enjoy his loot. Sheer waste of resources. Let’s engage an indigenous coach ASAP

  • If we want Oyibo, then employ a quality Oyibo coach not a journeyman.
Arsen Wenger is free, go for him.
He believes in youth and youth development.
    Let’s go for Wenger.
