Liverpool have reportedly made a £50million bid for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, as they look to turn their fortunes around in 2015.
The Reds have struggled for goals so far this term, particularly from their strikers who have managed just two Premier League goals between them – including one from the injured Daniel Sturridge.
According to the Daily Star, Brendan Rodgers has identified Benzema as the man to get his side the goals they need to climb the League, and has already submitted a £50million offer.
Arsenal and Manchester United are both also keen on the talented striker, but may be less likely to make an offer that will reach Madrid’s demands with both sides prioritising defensive signings.
The 27-year-old forward has 125 goals to his name in Spain, having made 259 appearances for the Champions League and Copa Del Rey holders.
