In the 16th minute McArthur drew Palace level, looping a header over Loris Karius following a poor back pass by Dejan Lovren.
Lovren made up for his error by putting Liverpool 2-1 up in the 21st minute, heading in a corner.
In the 29th minute Moreno went close for Liverpool only to see his effort strike the post.
McArthur grabbed his second of the game in the 33rd minute to make it 2-2 after he headed past Karius off Wilfred Zaha's six yard cross.
Philippe Coutinho almost gave Liverpool the lead on 36 minutes but his header was tipped on to the post by Mandanda.
Liverpool went in front again in the 44th minute through Joel Matip who headed in from a corner.
In the 53rd minute Mandanda made a huge save for his side, stopping a one-on-one from Sadio Mane.
Firmino made the game safe for Liverpool on 71 minutes, clipping the ball over Mandanda after a pass from Jordan Henderson.
