The League Management Company (LMC) have charged Shooting Stars Sports Club manager, Rasheed Balogun, for breaching the Code of Conduct for Club Officials, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Balogun had a touchline confrontation with Plateau United’s manager Kennedy Boboye during a matchday 12 Nigeria Professional Football League match involving 3SC and Plateau United at the Lekan Salami stadium, Adamasigba a fortnight ago.
The game ended 1-1. Balogun has been fined N200,000.
According to tweets from the official handle of the LMC, Plateau United’s Boboye himself has been banned for three games for failing to conduct himself in a professional manner during the fiesty encounter. He is also fined N100,000 by the LMC.
Also charged is Plateau United’s goalkeeper Dele Ajiboye. The former Nigeria U-17s and U-20s shot stopper will serve a one-match ban for displaying behaviour capable of inciting others through his verbal altercation with 3SC supporters during the game.
Balogun, Boboye and Ajiboye have 48 hours from the date of notification of the sanctions to accept LMC’s ruling or elect to appeal.
“Balogun failed to show good example by encroaching the technical area (a restricted area) during the NPFL Matchday 12 game between 3SC and Plateau Utd,” the LMC tweeted on Thursday.
