By Adeboye Amosu: Wikki Tourists head coach, Abdu Maikaba, is delighted to see his side back at the summit of the Nigeria Professional Football League following Sunday's 1-1 away draw against Warri Wolves, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Maikaba's charges were toppled by Enugu Rangers who beat Abia Warriors 2-1 on Friday, but a late Idris Guda strike which came few minutes after the hosts were reduced to 10-men following the dismissal of Shedrack Oghali sent them back to the top of the table.
The former Enyimba assistant coach also praised his side for their fighting spirit in the game.
"We are happy to be back at the top of the table after what was a difficult game against Warri Wolves," Maikaba told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"My players performed well against a difficult opponent and I must give kudos to them for fighting till the end.
"We got a crucial point which is certainly good for our ambition of becoming champions.
"Now we concentrate on the Federation Cup game against Plateau United on Wednesday and hopefully we will progress into the next round."
Wikki are however without a win in their last three games in the NPFL.
