Eagles star to miss club’s second consecutive league games
Nigeria defender, Juwon Oshaniwa will for the second consecutive time play no part in his club, Ashdod clash this weekend away to Bnei Sakhnin on account of illness.
Oshaniwa watched from the stands as his club fell 0-1 at their 7,980 Yud-Alef stadium home ground in a league tie on Saturday.
The former Sharks of Port Harcourt left-back confirmed he will not be available for selection when manager Nir Klinger takes his troops to the 8,500 seater Doha Stadium on Saturday against home side, Bnei Sakhnin who are 7th on the Ligat Ha’Al league table.
“I’ll not be available for the match against (Bnei) Sakhnin on Saturday”, informs the Nigeria left wing-back when Complete Sports spoke with him on Monday.
“This is because I’m yet to recover from fever illness which struck me last Thursday, forcing me to miss Friday training and our home game with Hapoel Haifa which we sadly lost 1-0.
“I went to the hospital that Friday to see doctor.
“Even as we speak now (Monday afternoon) I could not train as I’m still feeling strong so I will not be part of the team that will travel to Bnei Sakhnin on Saturday,”Juwon said.
The 24-year-old Nigeria international and 2013 AFCON winner with Super Eagles has made 30 appearances for the Israeli club this out-going 2014.
