Man United Claim Dramatic Comeback Win Over Crystal Palace

Nemanja Matic scored a stoppage time stunner for Manchester United who came from two goals down to beat Crystal 3-2 at Selhurt Park in the English Premier League on Monday.

A goal early in each half from Andros Townsend and Patrick Van Aanholt secured a 2-0 lead at half time for the Eagles.

But goals from Chris Smalling, Romelu Lukaku and Matic sealed a massive comeback win Manchester United.

United trio of Matic, Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez were guilty of poor passes as United rarely threatened in the first half.

After the break, Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, brought on Marcus Rashford for Scott McTominay as his side pushed for an equaliser.

The England international got into the thick of action and almost had a chance to score.

Van Aanholt doubled his side’s lead in the third minute of the second half when a free-kick was quickly played to his path.

The Dutch defender made no mistake beating David de Gea from close range for Palace’s second goal.

Chris Smalling missed a chance to pull one back for United from Rashford’s corner.

The United defender made up for his earlier miss, heading in Antonio Valencia’s delightful cross from the edge of the Palace box.

United turned the heat on Palace who were restricted to defending after the goal they conceded.

Lukaku levelled scores for United firing in a low drive from close range for his 99th career goal in the EPL.

The goal was Lukaku’s 14th EPL goal this season and his 23rd in all competitions for Manchester United this season.

Christian Benteke’s header almost restored Palace’s lead minutes after United’s equaliser but De Gea’s right hand save denied the Belgian striker a goal.

Matic sealed the win with a 25-yard strike – his first goal for the club since joining from Chelsea in the summer.
With the win, United climbed above Liverpool back into second place in the table.
