Manchester United defeated Crystal Palace 2-0 at Old Trafford on Wednesday night in the English Premier League.
An own goal by Damien Delaney and a superb strike by Matteo Darmien, his first ever goal for United, secured the win.
With the win, United are now just one point behind fourth place Arsenal and two points off Manchester City who are third in the league table.
It took just four minutes for United to open the scoring after Delaney diverted Darmien’s cross into his own net.
Julian Speroni made a sharp save in the 22nd minute deny Anthony Martial from doubling United’s lead.
In the 39th minute Marcus Rashford unleashed a low drive that Speroni palmed around the post.
Speroni prevented Palace from going down 2-0 on 52nd minutes when he saved a powerful shot off Juan Mata.
But in the 55th minute, Speroni was helpless as Darmian chesting a cross down before volleying in off the post.
