Mane On Target As Japan Hold Senegal In Four-Goal Thrilling Draw

Senegal missed the chance to put themselves in a good position to qualify for the round of 16 as they were forced to a 2-2 draw by Japan in Group H of the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday.
Senegal broke the deadlock in the 12th minute as Japan keeper Eiji Kawashima’s initial save from a shot came off Sadio Mane to make it 1-0.
Japan were back on level terms on 34 minutes thanks to Takashi Inui who curled in a low strike into the bottom corner.
In the 72nd minute 19-year-old Moussa Wague put Senegal 2-1 ahead with a superb strike into the top corner for his first senior international goal.
Japan for the second time in the game drew level through substitute Keisuke Honda in the 78th minute finishing off a cross which makes him the first player from his country to score in three different World Cups.
Both teams are now on four points after two games with Senegal facing Colombia in their final Group game while Japan will take on Poland both on Thursday.
The group’s other game will see Poland and Colombia square off to try and get their World Cup back on track after opening day loses to Senegal and Japan respectively.
