By James Agberebi: Golden Eaglets' Head Coach, Manu Garba, has described the addition of Coach Nduka Ugbade to the coaching crew of the U-17 national team as a good addition that would bolster the team’s quest for a ticket to the 2017 CAF U-17 Cup of Nations to be held in Madagascar, Completesportsnigeria.comreports
Ugbade was reappointed into the country’s cadet side as assistant coach last week by the board of Nigeria Football Federation.
He was Garba's assistant when Nigeria won her fourth FIFA U-17 World in 2013 in the UAE, and when the Flying Eagles won a record seventh Africa U-20 title in Senegal in 2015.
Garba, while introducing Ugbade, said the former Nigeria international would bring his wealth of his experience to bear on the team.
"I'm happy to introduce coach (Nduka) Ugbade. We have worked together both in Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles, and for some of you who don't know him, he was the captain when Nigeria won the Kodak U-16 World Cup in China in 1985," explained Garba, to his wards at the national team's camp.
"As I have repeatedly said, you have to listen to us and we are one big family here; and we want you to listen because you have so much to learn from him (Ugbade)."
Meanwhile, the Golden Eaglets have stepped up preparation towards next week’s CAF U-17 AFCON qualifying fixture against Niger Republic.
