Nigeria striker Obafemi Martins was sent off for Seattle Sounders in a 2-0 victory Sunday night over the Houston Dynamo at CenturyLink Field, which took them back to the league summit.
The former Levante striker will now miss Seattle’s game on Saturday against Real Salt Lake.
Martins became the Villain when he got a second yellow card in the 86th minute.
This was after a foul on him inside the 18-yard box was converted by Gonzalo Pineda for the second goal in the 74th minute.
Despite the late red card for the star forward, Seattle Sounders held on to the 2-0 lead.
With this win, Seattle Sounders have reclaimed the Western Conference top spot with 41 points from 21 games.
