Mashaba Makes Two Changes For Nigeria clash

Bafana Bafana coach Ephraim “Shakes” Mashaba has made two changes to the Bafana Bafana starting line-up for the Group A of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria at the Cape Town Stadium tonight.

Bidvest Wits captain Sibusiso Vilakazi, who came off the bench to score a brace against Sudan last Friday, will start in place of Tokelo Rantie, while Orlando Pirates midfielder Oupa Manyisa gets the nod ahead of Keagan Dolly.

Bafana Bafana go into this match with a confidence boosting 3-0 win against Sudan in their opening qualifying match played last Friday in Omdurman. Nigeria’s Super Eagles, on the other hand, are walking wounded following a 3-2 home loss to Congo on Saturday.

But the Nigerians have the psychological edge over their hosts on tonight(Wednesday as they are yet to lose to Bafana in a competitive match. The last time Bafana got something against Nigeria was in the 2004 Nelson Mandela Challenge.

Nevertheless, a lot has changed since – new coach (Mashaba) and a youthful yet ambitious squad.
