By Adeboye Amosu: The proposed move of Remo Stars striker Victor Mbaoma to MFM FC has hit the brick wall following disagreement between the two clubs, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Mbaoma who scored 10 times in the Nigeria Professional Football League for relegated Remo Stars last season is seen as perfect replacement for Stephen Odey who scored 18 goals for MFM FC last term and had since linked up with Swiss club, FC Zurich.
Remo Stars and MFM FC failed to reach an agreement on the terms of a loan deal for the forward who was dropped from the Home Eagles squad to the African Nations Championship on Tuesday by coach Salisu Yusuf.
Completesportsnigeria.com however scooped from a source at the MFM FC, that the player is now set to link up with another NPFL side, Akwa United.
“I can confirm to you that Victor’s move to MFM is off. We already agreed on a loan move with Remo Stars but didn’t agree on the terms of the deal,” the source revealed to Completesportsnigeria.com.
“We wanted to insert a clause in the contract
that will cede a percentage from the transfer fee to us should he eventually get an offer from abroad and decide to leave us but Remo Stars officials rejected the idea.
“We didn’t want a repeat of the Stephen Odey saga where we help launch the player to stardom and didn’t get what we deserved at the end of the day.”
Mbaoma’s former Remo Stars teammate, Oche Salefu, who was also due to join the Olukoya Boys on loan has now linked up Rivers United over the same problem.
