Lionel Messi won the biggest prizes on Monday night as Barcelona swept the La Liga BBVA Awards for the best performers of the 2014/2015 season.
The Argentina captain, who led Barcelona to the unique La Liga, Copa Del Rey and Champions League treble, won the two most important awards on the night.
Messi won the best forward and best player awards.
His teammates and coach also picked up awards.
Claudio Bravo was named the best goalkeeper, while Luis Enrique was best coach.
Neymar won the best South American player award to complete the Barcelona sweep.
Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos, James Rodriguez and Cristiano Ronaldo were named best defender, best midfielder and fan favourite respectively.
Messi, during his acceptance speech, dedicated his awards to his son Thiago.
“I want to dedicate this to Thiago who gets angry when I leave the house. He says papa are you going to score more goals again,” Messi said.
“I tell him, yes I will score more goals again. So this is for Thiago. Thank you.”
