Mikel John Obi is confident that his Chinese Super League side, Tianjin TEDA, will start winning games before the League starts next month, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Since the arrival of the former Chelsea star, Tianjin Teda have failed to win in nine pre-season game. They have lost seven games and recorded two draws.
The 29 year old midfielder told sports.enorth.com.cn in an interview in Japan that the results were quite unexpected, but hope the club will return to winning ways in their final two friendlies next week.
"We have not been winning, but I'm confident we will start," Mikel said..
He added: "The intensity of the sessions have dropped so as to avoid injuries."
He also thanked the club's fans who came out to support him and the team since the start of their pre-season programme.
"Really quite unexpected, I did not think there are fans concerned about me.
"How do they know that we are here to train, really very surprised."
