Chelsea defeated a young Manchester City side full of Academy players 5-1 to advance into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday.
Chelsea will face Everton in the last eight.
Goals from Diego Costa, Eden Hazrad, Willian, Tim cahill and Bertrand Traore secured the win for Chelsea. David Faupala got City’s only goal.
Faupala had the first chance of the game on third minutes after beating two Chelsea defenders but his shot was stopped by Thibaut Courtois.
In the 13th minute, Pedro had Chelsea’s first real chance after a one-two with Cesc Fabregas but his effort came off the post.
Willy Caballero was called to action in the 23rd minute, claiming a Fabregas left-foot strike.
Kelechi Iheanacho tried a long range shot in the 33rd minute which went wide over the bar.
Costa finally opened the scoring on 35th minute, heading pass Caballero off an Eden Hazard assist.
City responded in the 37th minute through Faupala after an assist from Iheanacho.
Chelsea almost went ahead in the 41st minute through Pedro, Caballero made a point-blank save.
And with two minutes to the end of the first half, Tosin Adarabioyo blocked a Pedro goal-bound shot away for a corner.
Willian put Chelsea 2-1 in the 48th minute off an assist from Hazard following a quick counter-attack.
Cahill made it 3-1 in the 53rd minute, volleying past Caballero after a Fernando poor clearance.
In the 58 minute, Martin Demichellis blocked a Pedro cross away for a corner.
Hazard increased Chelsea lead in the 67 minute from a well taken free-kick.
Iheanacho came close to scoring for City on 68 minutes, but his back-heel was blocked by Cahill.
In the 72 minute, Oscar who came in for Pedro, saw his shot miss the top right corner.
Caballero saved Oscar’s penalty on 75 minutes after Demchellis badged Bertrand Traore in the 18-yard box.
Courtois punched away to corner a Kolarov long range shot in the 88th minute.
And in the 89th minute, Traore completed the rout, heading in a cross which came off the post before ending inside the back of the net.
