14 min- Mexican freekick but blasted high and wide
18 min- Stella Nnodim breaks a Mexican move, resulting in a throw-in for the Central Americans
20 min- Halimatu Ayinde kicks the ball straight into the hands of Mexico’s keeper, Cecilia Santiago

56 min- Chichi in goal for Nigeria makes another rash decision of leaving her line, giving the Mexicans impetus to put Nigerian defence under pressure
57 min- Chichi saves from a direct shot at goal
57 min- Espinoza (in) comes off the bench in place of Perez
63 min- Njoku’s cross-shot almost dipped into the Mexican net but Santiago reads the flight of the deceptive ball
65 min- A promising Falconets attack not utilised as Mexico defend bravely
70 min- Njoku receives treatment from the medics after clash of bodies with her keeper Sandra Chichi
72 min- Njoku’s free header from an in -swinging corner kick not on target
75 min- Asisat Oshoala’s shot from edge of the box not powerful enough to cause any havoc
76 min- Loveth Ayila’s left-footed shot miss target. She should have sought penetration with a team mate or two. Nigeria soon had two chances but as usual, same wastefulness and lack of ideas at crucial moments continue
