The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has launched an investigation into the transfer of Chisom Chikatara to Wydad
Athletic Club Casablanca following a petition by rival clubs questioning his eligiblity, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The complaint which was lodged by league leaders Ittihad of Tangierclaimed that the former Abia Warriors striker could not take part in
the Moroccan championship, having failed to make ten appearances for the Nigeria national team.
Ittihad, who have tried in vain to recruit Chikatara on loan from WAC, filed the petition pointing out that the Nigeria striker is not
eligible to play because he has not won at least ten caps for the Super Eagles, a condition stipulated by the Moroccan Football
Federation and binding on national clubs in order to rationalize the recruitment of foreign players.Chikatara, who was named
Man-of-the-Match after making a return from a long injury lay-off in his side's 1-1 away draw with Hassania Agadir, joined WAC in July on a three-year contract after a protracted drama regarding the transfer.
The 22-year-old Chikatara shone at this 2015 CHAN in Rwanda, scoring four goals, including a hat trick against Niger, but Nigeria failed to go past the group stage.
