Chelsea’s quest to win this season’s Premier League title suffered a minor setback following their 1-1 draw against Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday.
Pedro Rodriguez gave Chelsea an early lead but Robbie Brady’s stunning free-kick made sure both teams shared the spoils.
Super Eagles forward Victor Moses provided the assist for Pedro’s goal before going off for Willian with less than 20 minutes left.
The draw was Burnley’s second against Chelsea in the Premier League following four losses in four previous clashes with the Blues.
With the draw, Chelsea are now 10 points ahead of second placed Tottenham Hotspur.
Chelsea bossed the early parts of the game and should have gone ahead through Eden Hazard but his shot could not go past Tom Heaton in goal for Burnley.
Chelsea’s early pressure was finally rewarded in the seventh minute as Pedro finished off a low cross from Victor Moses following a counterattack.
Burnley almost responded a minute later through Ashley Barnes whose shot from the edge of Chelsea’s box was saved by Thibaut Courtois.
Burnley started edging the play and eventually drew level on 24 minutes thanks to a brilliant left-foot free-kick by Brady which went over the wall and into the top corner.
In the 37th minute Chelsea were lucky not to have conceded a second goal as Courtois kept out Matt Lowton’s goal bound shot off Joey Barton’s through ball.
Burnley almost went ahead in the three minutes into the second half only for Courtois to deny Andre Gray whose first time shot was heading into the back of Chelsea’s net.
Chelsea recovered from the early scare from Burnley and went close on 61 minutes but Cesar Azpilicuerta’s strike from 30 yards missed the target.
