Moses Dropped From Sudan Clashes

–Keshi calls up Dolphins star Emem Eduok as replacement

Super Eagles forward Victor Moses has been dropped by Coach Stephen Keshi for the 2015 AFCON qualifiers against Sudan in Omdurman on October 11 and has been replaced by Emem Eduok.

This was disclosed to Complete Sports by spokesman of the Nigeria Football Federation, Demola Olajire on Sunday.

Eduok who plies his trade with Dolphins joined the Port-Harcourt team in 2010 from Akwa United and has so far scored 12 goals in the Glo NPFL.

“Due to the injury Moses sustained in their game on Saturday, he has been dropped by the coach to avoid aggravating the injury. He has been replaced by Dolphins striker Emem Eduok,” Olajire said.

Moses who is on loan from Chelsea, got injured after creating an assist for Charlie Adams in Stoke’s 3-1 loss to Sunderland on Saturday which resulted in his substitution.

After missing the Eagles games in the qualifiers against Congo and South Africa, he was listed for the Sudan double header but will now miss out due to the injury.

Meanwhile, the former Wigan Athletic player who expressed his disappointment following the injury, however twitted that he would bounce back very soon.

“Disappointed to lose today (Saturday) the lads gave everything, hopefully, i’ll be back fully fit very soon.”

  • I HOPE KESHI KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING. WHAT OF UCHE? IT IS HIGH TIME UCHE IS USED. ALL FANS ARE CLAMORING FOR THE INCLUSION OF THIS YOUNG MAN. THIS IS ONE REASON WHY PINNICK WILL NOT RENEW HIS CONTRACT. ALL THE CASTIGATING BY VICTOR IKPEBA IS PART OF THE PLAN. WE NEED TO BEAT SUDAN HOME AND AWAY AND BEAT SOUTH AFRICA IN NIGERIA. THEN LASTLY BEAT CONGO AT THEIR HOME. TWO TEAMS FROM A GROUP AND 3 BEST THIRD IS QUALIFYING. SO THE POSSIBILITY OF STILL QUALIFYING IS THERE BUT WE SHOULD BE SERIOUS.

I don’t think keshi should be sacked but the new NFF president should wade in and settles the rift between uche and keshi……After we must have qualified for the AFCON, players like, moses odubajo of BrentFord,Tom Adeyemi of Cardiff city, sylvester igboun of fC midtjylland of Denmark, gbenga arokoyo of gaziantep bb of turkey,in form goal keeper Karl ikeme wolveshampton,Bartholomew ogbeche of Camburr fc of Holland should also be given a look in the super eagles of Nigeria during the Afcon next yr

In as much as I want Keshi to continue with his job I still don’t understand his style of inviting players. To start with Keshi invited four new players who have not been tested and now Moses is injured and replaced by another new player, when are we going to have a team and stop this rebuilding madness? We have two crucial matches and we still don’t he a team. Am not clamoring for any player but it is obvious that the coach has shot the door for some good players, qualifiers should not be used for testing players ability we can do that in friendly matches. Also, Keshi should not be unyielding to public opinion he should not say because he has won the nations cup then he can do anything he likes. I am one of Keshi’s fans but he is becoming too arrogant. For those clamoring for Siasia, I think u have forgot so soon the sad memory of not qualifying for the nations cup. If Keshi has lost it according to Victor Ikpeba which is glaring anyway then we need a tested foreign coach who would open the camp to everybody and give the young lads to opportunity to show the stuffs they are made of. Nevertheless, keshi can still continue if he is ready to listen to public opinion because sacking him now is going to affect our chances of qualifying for the nations cup.
