By James Agberebi:

Nigeria forward Victor Moses has hailed Chelsea and England legend Frank Lampard as one of the best footballers in the world following the midfielder's retirment from football.

On Thursday, Lampard, 38, announced that he was calling it quits after 21 years in the game.

Moses who only played with Lampard in the 2012-2013 season at Chelsea, together winning the Europa League, described Lampard as a true Chelsea legend.

"One of the best ever and @ChelseaFC legend. Good luck mate," Moses wrote on his Twitter handle on Thursday.

Lampard joined Chelsea in 2001 and became their all-time top goal scorer with 211 goals in all competitions.

He won three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, two League Cups, one Europa League and one UEFA Champions League.

He also represented England at three FIFA World Cups (2006, 2010 and 2014) and one European Championship (2004).

Apart from Chelsea, Lampard played for West Ham, Manchester City and New York City FC.
