Moses Sent Off As Arsenal Outclass Chelsea To Set FA Cup Record

By Johnny Edward:

Arsene Wenger became the most successful manager in the history of the English FA Cup after he led Arsenal to a 2-1 win over 10-man Chelsea on Saturday at Wembley, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

It was Wenger's seventh FA Cup trophy since he arrived in England 20 years ago and Arsenal's 13th, making them the most successful club in the competition.

Nigeria star Victor Moses was sent off in the second half of the encounter for a second bookable offence after he took a dive.

His compatriot Alex Iwobi was an unused substitute at Wembley.

Aaron Ramsey scored the winning goal for the Gunners after Diego Costa had cancelled out Alexis Sanchez's opener.

The Chilean beat the offside trap before slicing his shot past Thibaut Courtois.

The Gunners missed a glorious chance to double the lead in the 19th minute through Mesut Ozil.

Danny Welbeck also missed another chance when his header crashed against the upright and Aaron Ramsey failed to take advantage from close range.

Chelsea were second best throughout the first half as the Gunners restricted the Blues to just three shots on target.

Arsenal playing on the counter attack created scoring chances which Welbeck and Sanchez failed to take.

In the second half Chelsea turned on the heat on Arsenal, dictating the pace and almost got an equaliser through Victor Moses whose low drive was saved David Ospina in the 49th minute.

Pedro also watched agony as his curling effort from the edge of missed target.

Chelsea desperate to get back on level terms brought on Cesc Fabregas for Nemanja Matic but it was the Gunners who nearly doubled the lead.

Hector Bellerin failed to finish off a brilliant counter attack move after the Chelsea defence was cut out.

Diego Costa restored parity for the Blues but their celebration was short lived as Aaron Ramsey's header sealed the victory for Arsenal.
