Moses Thrilled Scoring Dramatic Late Winner For Stoke

VICTOR Moses hailed the spirit of his teammates after the Potters came from behind to beat Aston Villa on Saturday.

City broke a Club record of most away wins in a Premier League season after securing their fifth away win the campaign at Villa Park.
Scott Sinclair opened the scoring for the hosts early on before Mame Diouf equalised with a super header just before the interval.
Moses then secured the spoils after winning an injury time penalty following a foul from Villa captain Ron Vlaar before coolly stepping up to slot the spot-kick home.
The victory comes after the disappointment of last weekend’s FA Cup exit to Blackburn Rovers and Moses believes the win over Aston Villa is the perfect kick start for the remainder of the campaign.
“We showed tremendous spirit to come back into the game after going behind,” he told Stoke City Player.
“With the ability of players we have in the squad, we always knew we had the capabilities to get something from the game.
“It was a good result for us today, especially as we had to deal with the hype of them having a new manager which will have given them a boost.
“It was perfect timing for us to bounce back as well, especially after the disappointment of last weekend.
“We picked ourselves up straight away and hopefully with this result we can move on and look ahead to the rest of the season.”
Moses’ winner was his third in Potters colours and admitted afterwards he never had any doubt in taking the spot-kick despite regular penalty taker Jonathan Walters being on the pitch.
The winger revealed afterward that skipper Glenn Whelan was the first to ask if he was ok with taking the penalty right at the death and Moses admitted he was always confident stepping up.
“As soon as I won the penalty, I wanted to take it,” he added.
“I was comfortable about taking it. I was looking at the ‘keeper as I stepped up and I never had any doubt I was going to score.
“It’s not the first time I have taken a penalty, I take them regularly at international level and I am very happy to have got on the scoresheet.
“That’s nice personally, but the main thing is that we all dug out after a difficult period and gained the three points.”
