The mother of the first beneficiary of Kanu Heart Foundation, Alhaja Amudat Adesola has told Completesportsnigeria.com exclusively that Nwankwo Kanu was God sent to save her daughter's life.

Enitan was operated upon successfully in London in 2000 with the Foundation going further to successfully operate over 500 kids.

After a 12-hour journey from Lagos to Arochukwu, Alhaja Adesola's presence in Arochukwu sparked emotional feelings as Nwankwo Kanu's mother, Sussan Nwannediya Kanu Iheme began her final journey home.

"When Kanu Nwankwo personally sent me an invitation through whatsApp to attend his mother's burial, I concluded that I will be there," Adesola began in an emotion ladden tone.

"We came to know Kanu in 2000. It was through Larry Izamoje's programme on radio.

"That time, my daughter, Enitan, (now 18 years) had problem in the heart and we contacted Izamoje who linked us with Nwankwo Kanu.

"The rest, as they say, is now history as Enitan was flown to London for surgery through Nwankwo Kanu.

"I travelled with her and she was successfully operated. He was like a God sent messaiah, to save Enitan's life," she told  Completesportsnigeria.com

Enitan did not only survive the open heart surgery, she has moved on the next level of her life.

Alhaja Adesola revealed that Enitan is now an undergraduate.

"She is in the university of Lagos, 300 level. She is studying History and Strategic Studies," happy mother, Adesola disclosed with a broad smile beaming through her face.

"I'm happy. It's like God sent Kanu . If not for him, I don't know what story I would be telling today about my daughter, Enitan.

"Everyday I see her, I feel happy, you see that joy of a proud mother radiate in me. Since then, I've been in touch with Kanu, Enitan has been in touch too. She can talk to him any time, maybe through social media.

"They communicate and I do communicate too. We've become some kind of family friends."

Adesola prayed God to give Kanu the grace to go with the life now that his mother is no more.

"I just pray that God gives him the grace to bear this loss and for him to forge ahead.

"I know he's going to miss his mother because I know what mother is because I'm a mother too.

"There is this bond between mother and child and I know he's really going to miss her."
