Tottenham Hotspur made it three wins from three English Premier League games this season defeating Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
A brace from Lucas Moura and a superb header from Harry Kane handed Tottenham Hotspur their best win at Old Trafford in 50 years. It was the first time Manchester United have lost two of first three league games since 1992-93.
The win was also Mauricio Pochettino’s 200th win in charge of Tottenham Hotspur.
At the start, Romelu Lukaku had the game’s best chance in the 16th minute when he raced on to a poor back pass from Danny Rose to Hugo Lloris but after rounding off the Tottenham goalkeeper, the Belgian forward fired his shot inches wide the goal.
Tottenham Hotspur also failed to take a big opportunity which came their way after Nemanja Matic was dispossessed by Dele Alli but a last-ditch tackle from Chris Smalling to stop the the England forward from aiming at goal as the first half ended goalless.
In the 50th minute, Harry Kane broke the deadlock with a superb header back across goal which beat David De Gea for the opening goal. The goal was Kane’s second goal in nine games against Manchester United.
Alli and Kane both missed sitters as Manchester United’s bombed forward in search of a goal.
Moura fired in Tottenham Hotspur’s second goal sliding in Christian Eriksen’s cross from the right flank two minutes later.
The Brazilian made it 3-0 skipping past Chris Smalling before firing a low drive past De Gea to score his second on the night. The goal was Moura’s third of the season.
The defeat was Jose Mourinho’s biggest ever at home as a manager in any competition.
Tottenham join Liverpool, Chelsea and Watford with three wins from their first three league games of the season while Manchester United dropped to 13th in the EPL standings.
