Mourinho Demands Alves Signing

Chelsea look set to beat Liverpool and Manchester United to the signature of Dani Alves, with reports from Fichajes.net suggesting that Jose Mourinho has demanded the addition of the Barcelona man in January.

The rampaging right-back looks set to leave the Camp Nou in the not too distant future, with the player himself having admitted that a switch to England is his aim.

Liverpool and United were linked with free transfer moves – his contract expires at the end of the current campaign – for the 31-year-old, but no Mourinho’s Chelsea look set to win the battle.

Reports suggest that ‘The Special One’ has told the Blues’ board that he wants the South American star in January, with the presence of such a player likely to help the club to achieve their title aims.

Talks with Barca are scheduled to take place soon, with the Spaniards likely to accept respectable offers for the ageing defender.

Alves has been a key member of the La Liga giants’ first-team since his 2008 arrival from Sevilla, helping the club to win four league titles and two Champions Leagues.
