Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has praised central midfielder John Obi Mikel after the Nigerian international impressed once again for the Blues in their 2-0 win over Hull City on Saturday.
Eden Hazard set the Blues on their way inside seven minutes with a goal and he then assisted Diego Costa to add a second in the second-half, in-turn wrapping up the game.
“John Mikel Obi also had a very positive performance. Once more a big player for us didn’t play – this time Fabregas – and the people who replaced him assumed responsibility, Mourinho said after the game.
The Portuguese had to swing the changes around with Cesc Fabregas suspended, after picking up a yellow card in the loss against Newcastle United last week.
Mikel starred during the week in the win over Sporting Lisbon and he slotted back in the midfield for the game at Stamford Bridge.
The Nigerian international was impressive against the Tigers, leading to Mourinho praising his professional performance.
