Sunderland manager David Moyes is banking on Nigerian striker Victor Anichebe and former England star Jermaine Defoe to help his side to another win this weekend when the Black Cats take on Swansea on Saturday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Moyes who side have claimed three wins in their last five games is keen to improve his side's standing in the English Premier League table with another win away at the Liberty Stadium.
Anichebe has scored three goals in six games, while Defoe has scored eight league goals this season.
"We’re fortunate that we’ve got that (goals) in Jermain and Victor is also adding to it, so that’s a big part about making sure we stay in the Premier League," Moyes said during his pre-match press conference on Friday.
"They’ve given us a real chance and when you have forwards who can score you’re always going to have an opportunity.
"The key for us this weekend is to win the game – if it gets us out the bottom then so be it but the job is to win – and try to build on what everything we’ve done at the moment.
"We’re getting better and the players are improving, I can sense it, but it doesn’t always guarantee you wins, but it does guarantee that we’ll head into the game with confidence.
"We’ve got a lot of belief at the moment that we can win games, and we have to go and show that."
A win will take Sunderland five points clear of the bottom-placed Swansea.
