David Moyes says Nigerian forward Victor Anichebe is one of Sunderland's signing of the season.
Anichebe joined Sunderland from West Bromwich Albion on a free ams has gone on to score three goals.
Anichebe could return to first team action for Sunderland in today's Premier League away clash with West Brom after nursing a hamstring injury on new year's eve.
Commenting on the possibility of adding to his squad which has been badly hit with injury, Moyes also described former South African international Steven Pieneer as another signing who has done well for the Black Cats.
“Obviously, I hope the players we get in can make a big difference, but more than likely the ones we are trying to get will be added to the squad to help us with numbers," Moyes told Sunderland Echo.
“I think that’s fundamental. Players want you to be towards the right end of the table before they choose.
“To be fair, looking at the transfers we’ve made, you could argue that Steven Pienaar and Victor Anichebe have done as well as anybody.
“So we have to try and find another couple like that if we can."
