Nigerian duo of Ahmed Musa and Efe Ambrose suffered heavy defeats in action for their respective clubs in Saturday’s pre-season games of their respective clubs.
Musa starred for 47 minutes as dethroned Russian champions CSKA Moscow lost 2-0 to lowly National Football League side Tosno and was replaced by Dersom Strandberg.
It was his third pre-season game for the Railway team and he is yet to score.
Ambrose’s Celtic crumbled to a 5-3 defeat to Dukla Prague in Paisley. The Nigerian international who partnered Virgil van Dijk in his first pre-season game replaced Celtic new boy Dedryk Boyata at the interval.
In Austria, Kayode Olanrewaju continued his goalscoring spree when he scored one and provided an assist in Austria Wien’s 9-4 win over USV Scheiblingkirchen.
It was his second goal in the pre-season for his Austrian outfit. He however took to Instagram to express is delight.
“One goal, one assist, thank you Almighty God for everything (training camp now),” he wrote via his handle @kayboi9.
