–Super Eagles star ready for Rostov battle
Nigeria World Cup star Ahmed Musa has told AfricanFootball.com his immediate target is for his club CSKA Moscow to retain the Russia Super Cup when they battle Rostov next Saturday.
Musa, who won league championship last season, will lead CSKA Moscow charge for the Super cup against Cup winners Rostov to usher in the new season in Russia, which kicks off August 2.
“It is good to be back in Moscow, we are in pre-season and getting set for the Super Cup game against Rostov. My target is to help my club retain the Super Cup,” Ahmed Musa told AfricanFootball.com
“If I scored in the game, I will be glad but winning the cup is the top priority. I won it last year, i want to win it again.”
CSKA Moscow won the Super Cup last season with 3-0 win over Zenit St.Petersburg.
Musa was one of Nigeria’s best performers at the World Cup in Brazil, where he scored a brace in the 3-2 loss to Argentina and became the first player from the country to score a brace in a World Cup game.
