He will definitely shine there, and earn big bucks, but the quality of his football will reduce.

Time to phase out players like these from the Super Eagles. But Rohr and his fans will disagree (and abuse me for this) because he scored two goals in the World Cup.

  • Sometimes i wonder if these player have adviser at all. How can someone who did very well at world cup join a cup like this? you and I know is basically because of money. A certain Asamoah Gyan did the same thing but where is he today? later some myopic fans will start saying the coach is suffering from inferiority complex what do u expect when you have player in your team playing in Saudi Arabia as against big team like Madrid, Barca,Man utd etc..

Sometimes I wonder what Nigerian players really want? how can a player of Musa’s pedigre move to saudi arabia after having such a brilliant world cup, well, my hope now is that our national team should only give consideration to players who ply their trade in top leagues. some of these do not care about the development of the national team. how can we compete with the best in the if our top players plays for lesser and inferior leagues where their progress is not top-leveled?

Fear of poverty after retirement is the cause. But like my friends will say a good player will still earn big at a big club or league and Cristiano Ronaldo at his old age proved us right by rejecting China and switch to Juventus I will keep repeating myself lack of Education is the reason why most of our sportsmen like Etebo and Musa will play for clubs who they are worth more than. From Provery to extreme riches is not good most times.

  • What a career suicide!
    RIP to your career!
    Farewell to your SE career!
    From stardom to Obscurity!
From kano pillars to Saudi Arabia (dust to dust)
    What a pity!
    What a tragedy!
There was no advisers to save you from this calamity!
    Poor you bro!
    Sorry!

I have read all comments here and i feel we all shouldn’t be quick to judge. it is certain that Musa is not 25 years old and i am fully sure he is approaching his late 30s. i do believe he has good advisers, top clubs chased him but they have thought about the good, bad and ugly. like i said we shouldn’t be quick to judge. He may keep playing for al-nasr and do a great job for nigeria football likewise the other way round. The belgium team built a strong midfield around a chinese based player in Witsel and you can see their perfomance in the world cup. we all should show support, it is really not so easy as we think. i give great kudos to our players, with the hardship they passed through this country and still come out on top is not easy. Place yourself in their shoes before you judge…peace to you all

  • @bomboy u said de truth, let him be exclude in super eagle squad,

I dont even see anything special in musa, only his pace.

he is not creative, not intelligent in his moving.

Instead to stay at england to learn more to his pace, but he choose el nasri…….where dis team even come sef.

    RIP to de gentle career.

  • Musa is a wise guy. For whatever reason he has for moving to Saudi Arabia is his decision and it should be respected. He has played in CSKA, Russia, Leicester in England and now in Saudi Arabia. Anyone criticizing Musa has to visit the clinic for a thorough psychotic analysis. How on earth can a normal person criticize, abuse, curse, swear and say all sorts of very bad things on another person for making a personal decision. He is not even related to any one of them. What right do they have? None!!!!! I sorry for such people because they are pass all decency. Musa is a Moslem and he is going to an Islamic country. Will he enjoy it? Yes!!! Inviting Musa to the national team is the job of Gernot Rohr to make. After all Saudi Arabia was at the World Cup in Russia. Good coaches have left Europe to coach in Saudi Arabia. Those coaches may never want to come to Africa seeing Africa as too below them. Nobody criticized these coaches. My advice to these poke-nose persons is this: Mind Your Business and do not be busy-bodies. Stop this Ahmed Musa abuse.

    • Totally agree with you.i dont understand why some fans are blind when they know for a fact that he wasnt in puel’s plan at Leicester. Fair play to you musa, if your fans are not happy with your decision, let then lace thier boots and see how far they will get.

What has religion or whatever got to do with his decision to leave football power house of Eurpe to Saudi. Common I don’t like why we encourage dumb ass as for me it makes no sense why our world cup best player will be heading to Saudi when we hear a different story about other nationals whom after the world cup are making brilliant move. Very soon we will quit wasting our energy commenting on complete sports for mediocre minds to carry on

  • No body is abusing Musa or any SE player for that matter.
It is love that makes us fans leave our personal businesses to come here.
We expect much from them, we take pride in their success, are happy when they excel, and disappointed when they don’t do so well or live up to our expectations.
We wish them well and great success.
And we wish he was heading to Bacca, Arsenal, Madrid etc.
But like someone said here, he alone knows his team age.

  • Yes some guys are “dumb ass” indeed. @Djeniko has said the mind of a normal and sane person and analysed the mind of an abnormal or insane person. The abnormal person needs psychotic analysis, thorough one. I will add that the abnormal person envies anothers’ achievements and wants the things envied person has, in this case Ahmed Musa. Since they cannot have those things of Ahmed Musa, they resort to abuse and critical of the person, even formulating any thing to pull him down(PHD), in this case suggesting that the coach should not invite him to the Super Eagles. I will say this too to shame those criticising Ahmed Musa. China has never qualified for the WC and players from that poor league were invited to teams like Brazil and Belgium. But Saudi Arabia has been to the WC 2-3 times. How did they qualify if the Saudi Arabia league is bad. Xavi was a World class player but left for one of the Arab states but when he left he could still continue with Barcelona or Manchester clubs or PSG or the Madrid clubs or Juventus or any of the top German clubs. Shame on those who are critical of Ahmed Musa. It doesn’t concern anyone where anyone decides to work as long as it is legal. Anyone who cannot rejoice with those who are rejoicing but are envious are really really wicked at heart. They will be advastly judged by the Almighty God when the really wicked ones will be killed.

Quiet your mouth how many players from China or Saudi Arabia league made their mark at the World Cup? And the guy talking about Belgium Wiesel what impact has Wiesel compared to that of Bryune or hazard and don’t forget Oscar lost his spot in Brazil because of the Chinese league. I will envy a player who plays in Real Madrid or Barca not some Saudi. It is a shame and act of naivety that some fans will see money ahead Of greatness.  When players of Ronaldo’s age and Vidal are switching giant clubs for the love of the game and yet they are well paid. Huh Nigerians with their smelly reasoning that someone is envious of another because of realism speech. Most people who are in support of musa to Saudi are hungry men so they don’t understand the passion of Soccer. Kanu and co made us proud and they will forever be Africa’s great. By now I expected musa to be aiming for CAF best by building on his World Cup exploit to be Africa’s great but rather he is chasing otherwise. Smh

      • Your arguments are inherently flawed.
They are as limited a thinking as I have ever read.
Go and broaden your horizon before making any more contributions.

  • Ahmed Musa: the beginning of the end?

Named as one of the most exciting young talents in 2011, Ahmed Musa had a lot to live for and a lot to live up to.

Raw pace is something that has come to characterise Nigerian football and in young Ahmed Musa, Nigerian fans had a player to continue that legacy but would he deliver? Would he live up to expectations?

Seven years on from his breakthrough Under-20 days and Musa can actually say: I came, I saw, I conquered.

While the years were kind to him, critics were not: 2013-Afcon trophy; 2014-1st Nigerian to hit a brace at the World Cup and a world cup second round appearance; 2018-1st Nigerian to hit a double brace at consecutive world cup; between 2012 to 2018-played top flight European football and scored goals aplenty. Yet, he was regularly called “unreliable” by critics.

Now Musa yearns for a new challenge in the Middle East.

When you consider where some of his contemporaries like Nwofor and Edefa Egbedi are, one cannot help but be happy for what Musa has achieved for himself.

Could he have pushed himself a bit harder? Could he have snubbed the riches of the Gulf for the rigours of a European league?

    Perhaps yes, perhaps no.

The man has taken a decision he believes suits him at this stage of his career.

    Who is anybody to judge?

Who said playing in Saudi Arabia is the end of the road? Gyan played the before the 2010 world cup, he was arguably the standout Africa star at that world cup

  • Now! It’s becoming interesting. ..
*Uzoho- 3rd GK league 2 Spain
*Okoye- 3rd GK league 2 Germany
    *Osigwe- Swiss league 3
    *Shehu- Turkey
    *Aina- Reserve Team
    *Ekong- Turkey
    *Omeruo- Reserve
    *Nwakali- Porto B
    * Etebo- Nationwide division
    *Sanusi- Grenoble ligue 2
    *Osimhen- Rejected in Belgium
    *Lokosa- Rejected in Norway
    Now..Musa- Saudi.
It’s now up to Rohr to wor on them as a team..

  • …..That is why Rohr has to stay…
With him, I noticed some transfers that is particularly connected to him. ..e.g. .Awaziem on loan to France then, now..Bordeaux wants akinyemi.
Mikel agu wants to escape to maseille, Sam Kalu plans Monaco etc. All we need is to support these players. .they will get there one day. All they need now is to be playing as a team. That’s y I do say “super eagle world class player doesn’t exist” at least for now but they have age on there side. Up naija.

  • ….Remember. ..players or club they play don’t win football,  Teams do.
    We have positive transfers too.
    All together….they can do it.

which players have age on their side. lets stop deicieving ourselves.
