“I was shocked when I heard about the South Africa goalkeeper’s death on Sunday night. In fact I am still in shock,” the Eagles forward told AfricanFootball.com

“This is a big loss to the entire black race. My heart goes out to Orlando Pirates, his family, South Africans and the entire football family.”

Onazi described Meyiwa’s death as a tragedy of monumental proportion.

“I pray God will stand by his family, friends, country and us all as we mourn a fellow colleague.”
“This is not just a loss for the people of South Africa but for us all as humans. We just can’t continue this way. #StopTheKillings #RIPSenzo,” he tweeted.

“We mourn the death of this young footballer and team leader whose life has been taken away at the prime of his career.

“The law enforcement authorities must leave no stone unturned in finding his killers and bring them to justice. Words cannot express my shock at this loss.

“I wish to extend, on behalf of my colleagues in the Black Stars and all the people of South Africa, our words of condolence to his family and relatives, his friends and peers in the football game, his club Orlando Pirates and his national soccer team as well as the football fraternity as a whole. May his soul rest in peace.
