Super Eagles duo of Ahmed Musa and Aaron Samuel were both on target for CSKA Moscow who defeated Ural 3-0 on Thursday to move up to the top of the Russian Premier League.
Samuel pounced on a defensive mix-up in the Ural box to slot home his second goal of the season before Musa doubled the lead on the hour mark with a half volley for his 11th league goal of the season and his 16th in all competitions.
Musa's strike surpassed his goal scoring feat of ten goals for last season and equalled his goal tally in his full debut season at CSKA Moscow.
The Nigerian winger however turned provider in the 75th minute for Alan Dzagoev who put the icing on the cake for CSKA's 16th win of the campaign.
Both players have been called up for next month's international friendlies against Mali and Luxembourg.
In Finland, Gbolahan Salami scored his third league goal in his fifth league appearance for Kuopion Palloseura who lost 3-2 HIFK in the Veikkausliga.
Salami reduced the tally in the 49th minute, while Aleksi Paananen scored the second goal in the 65th minute, as the match ended 3-2 at full time.
Both Salami and his compatriot Azubuike Egwuekwe were in full time action, while Aliyu Abubakar was an unused substitute for KuPS.
In the Major League Soccer, Fanendo Adi failed to score for Portland Timbers who drew 1-1 away to New England Revolution on Thursday.
Adi was replaced by Darren Mattocks in the 79th minute of the encounter.
