Musa: Super Eagles Won’t Lose To Argentina; We Want To Win

By James Agberebi:
Ahmed Musa has stated that the Super Eagles are confident of defeating Argentina in their decisive Group D clash of the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles gave their quest of qualifying for the round of 16 a huge boost following their 2-0 win against Iceland on Friday in Volgograd.

Musa was the hero for the Super Eagles as his second-half brace gave his side the all-important win.

Argentina, on their part, have been a shadow of themselves as they were held to a 1-1 draw by debutants Iceland which was followed by a 3-0 trouncing in the hands of group leaders Croatia.

The Argentines must now beat the Super Eagles and hope Iceland do not get a favourable result against Croatia also on Tuesday.

A win for the Super Eagles will guarantee progress into the round of 16 and a draw could also be enough.

“Football is a game. You win or you lose. But we are not going to St. Petersburg to lose,” Musa, who is Nigeria’s top scorer in World Cups with four goals, told FIFA media.
“We want to win and we know that we can do it.”
The Super Eagles have met Argentina four times in the World Cup and lost each time with a one-goal margin.

The Argentina camp is in utter chaos now. No one seems to be in charge. After the fiasco against Croatia, the players, officials of the Argentina FA and the coaching staff had a crisis meeting. Javier Mascherano was elected to speak on behalf of the players and he demanded that, they want Jorge Burruchaga to take charge of the team ahead of the crunch tie with Nigeria. Christian Pavon stood up and lambasted Willy Caballero for the first goal. He and Mascherano then got into a boxing match.
It was brutal. Meanwhile, Sampaoli has been informed by Claudio Tapia, the Argentina FA president that he WILL definitely be sacked after the World Cup
What a way to prepare for a crucial match of humongous propotion.
I hope all these going ons in the Argentine camp favours us.

Yeah! We can do it. Musa,i have d trust in u guys. Mai almighty Allah b with us all. ma man go all out and have d victory with a good defensive

  • Argentina must fall. We’re NOT on a revenge mission, but even the stars have aligned in our favour. That’s what the quarrels, in-fighting, bickering in their camp portends. The opponents are fighting against themselves, depleting their energy and rendering themselves impotent. They’ll not be easy meat, but let’s put our acts together, be technically conscious to avoid offering them any advantage and strike MERCILESSLY at the blow of the whistle. Enough of slow starts for the SuperEagles. Argentina must fall.

If the Super Eagles are to win, Messi should’nt be allowed to touch the ball, I watched the match of Argentina and Croatia and saw how it was Messi did’nt had 20 pass and less in the second half. I hope we win
    Up Super Eagles

This is the kind of words I like reading, nice one Ahmed Musa. Kindly put that mentality into your coach Rohr because he is the head. I am tired of his bailout sentences he keeps saying to the media that Nigeria is a team for the future… 2022…
We do not need double mind in that team. A United front to come out on Tuesday. Play like you are in trance, like you have to score 100 because the lives of you and your dear ones depends on it.

Rohr, please work on the set pieces, and shape the Uzoho for penalty.

    Up Super Eagles!
