Nasarawa United forward Abdurahman Bashir hopes to succeed Gbolahan Salami as the new goal king in the Nigeria Professional Football League after netting his seventh goal in seven consecutive games for his side in Saturday’s 3-0 home win against El-Kanemi Warriors, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The goal increased his tally for the season to 13, one behind current top scorer Godwin Obaje of Wikki Tourists.
Salami who now plays for KuPs in the Finnish League scored 17 goals last season to finish as the leading marksman in NPFL last season.
And the former Lobi Stars ace is keen to score more goals for the Solid Miners this season and also win the top scorers gong at the end of the campaign.
“I’m happy with what I have done so far this season,” the former ABS and Enyimba striker told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“It will be nice to finish as the league top scorer and I will continue working hard to achieve that objective.
“As a team we have done well to improve our position in the table after our poor start to the season.
“We are in the last four of the Federation Cup and it will be great to end the season with silverware.”
