NBA Playoffs : Cleveland Cavaliers Vs Boston Celtics Betting Tips

Five games in, who would have thought that both the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors would be on the brink of elimination in their Conference Finals match-ups? That’s right, after last night’s Houston Rockets win, both the Cavs and Warriors are just one loss away from ending their season earlier than planned. These two teams have met for 3 straight years in the NBA Finals and that streak is now in doubt.

Another streak that’s in doubt is Lebron James’ NBA Finals appearance record. King James has made it to the final series for the past 7 straight NBA seasons, something that hasn’t been done since the 1960s and the Boston Celtics dynasty. The pressure is once again on Lebron to deliver and force a deciding Game 7 which would be played in Boston next Monday.

Cleveland won’t be too worried with Lebron’s play. In the 21 games in which his team has faced elimination, James has showed up big time and has posted an average of 33.5 ppg. The home team has won every time in the series so far and the Cavs have a 7-game win streak at the Quicken Loans Arena.
Boston’s young core has the next two games to clinch a NBA Finals appearance for the first time since 2010, the question remains though can they close out the Cavaliers? Judging by their road record in these Playoffs so far, that’s definitely not happening tonight. They’ve won only one away game and that was in the series against Philadelphia.

If they want to win tonight, their defence will have to be on the same level as it was in Game 5. They forced the Cavs into 15 turnovers and also won the rebounding battle, two key elements that led to the win. Add in decent performances from Jayson Tatum and Al Horford on the offensive end and you got yourself the winning formula.

The last time Lebron faced elimination against the Celtics he scored 45 points in that game. I expect him to be at his best tonight and lead the Cavs to yet another home win. My pick here is Cleveland Cavaliers -7 Point Spread at 10/11 odds.

The previous Game in Boston was a low scoring one with both teams failing to reach the 100 point mark. As we’ve seen in last night’s Western Conference game, performances on the defensive end decide the outcome of games at this point of the season. I’m going Under 201.5 Total Points at 10/11 odds.

The Cavs came out on top in 2 of the 3 regular season games. Boston leads the all-time regular season series 125-80 though.  (Source)
