Ndidi, Eze, Iheanacho, Omeruo Swell Eagles Camp To 11 Players

By Kayode Ogundare in Uyo:

The Super Eagles Ibom Resort Hotel came alive on Tuesday afternoon with the arrival of Leicester City duo of Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho as well as Kenneth Omeruo, Tyronne Ebuehi, France-based Chidozie Awaziem and Bulgaria-based Stephen Eze.

Plateau United goalkeeper Dele Ajiboye had arrived moments earlier into the camp after playing the weekend’s game for his club.

The latest arrivals bring to 11 the number of players in camp. Vice Captain Ogenyi Onazi, William Troost Ekong, Ola Aina, Alex Iwobi, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, and NPFL hotshot Junior Lokosa are already in the camp and took part in the physical training on Tuesday morning.
The other players, with the exception of China-based duo of captain Mikel Obi and Odion Ighalo, are expected to arrive before full training commences on Wednesday morning.

The team is due to engage DR Congo on Monday 28th of May in Port Harcourt.

Barring all injuries and lackadaisical attitudes of Nigerian players in the forthcoming World Cup, Nigeria will go far and spring surprises.

I have discovered that Complète Sports is biased in their reporting. You have refused to write on Akpeyi for close to 2 months, while u keep saying everything on Uzoho and Ezenwa.U have reported the arrival of some players at the Uyo’s camp of the Super Eagles, but have kept quiet about the goalkeeper’s arrival at the camp.Dont contribute to the death of his career.Hé is à Nigerian. We shld celebrate him not minding his shortcoming.I know your not reporting news about him is à plot to kill his dream to make it to the world cup! We are not God! We cant prevent destiny! If hé had been destined to go to world cup,hé will be there.U are à very popular newspaper.U shld not be partisan!

    • You only have to go back to the Super Eagles’ match to Egypt away on the 29th of March 2016 to see how good a goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi is.

Unfortunately, a seemingly high section of the fans choose to remember Nigeria Vs South African and Nigeria Vs Argentina.

Although he doesn’t always look confident, Akpeyi is a good goalkeeper and he retains the respect of some of us fans even if we are in the minority.

      • In the match against Egypt in 2016, although it ended 1:0 to Egypt, Akpeyi made some top quality saves to keep the scoreline respectful.

He was one of Nigeria’s best players on the pitch on that day.

  • trust me akpeyi will be in russia next month even though he wont be our no.1 genort rohr still have some confidence in him
