Ndidi Scores 2nd EPL Goal In Leicester Victory, Anichebe Wins With Sunderland 

 

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi scored his second Prwmier League goal of the season as Leicester won 3-0 against Watford on Saturday at the King Power Stadium, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

 

The Nigerian broke the deadlock in the game in the 38th minute when he fired the rebound into the roof of the net after the ball broke to him in the box. His first Premier League goal was against Stoke City on 1 April in a 2-0 win at home.

 

Riyad Mahrez and Marc Albrighton scored Leicester's other goals in the easy win.

 

Super Eagles forward Ahmed Musa was an unused substitute in the game. 

 

Manager Craig Shakespeare failed to hand Musa his 21st league appearance. Thirteen of his appearances have been off the bench. The speedster who has had off-field issues in recent times has scored two league goals and played a total 741 minutes.

 

Ndidi has played 14 league games for Leicester since joining from Genk in January.

 

One-cap Super Eagles forward Isaac Success was an unused substitute in the game. He has played in 19 Premier League games, starting in only two. In total, Success has played 503 mniutes of league football this season.

 

Leicester came close to scoring in the 19th minute when Jamie Vardy connected with a cross from the free kick inside the six-yard box and attempted to score with his foot. He hit one of the defenders and the ball ricochets onto the post off him.

 

Watford's Stefano Okaka was in a good shooting position inside the six-yard box in the 29th minute and produced a first-time shot towards the inside of the right post, but Kasper Scmeichel made an astonishing save to thwart him.

 

At the KCOM Stadium, Victor Anichebe could not score his fourth goal of the season in Sunderland's 2-0 away win against Hull City. The Nigerian has played 17 times in the league.

 

Billy Jones and Jermain Defoe scored Sunderland's goals to hand Hull their first home defeat under Marco Silva.

 

Anichebe was yellow-carded in the 89th minute of the game. It was his third of the season.

 

Sunderland's relegation was confirmed last Saturday in their 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth.

 

In other Premier League games on Saturday, Burnley scored a late equaliser at home to hold West Brom to a 2-2 draw, while Bournemouth and Stoke also played 2-2.
