  • I guess Rohr has kept largely to the same core group of players that he has worked with over the past months.

They came good for him at world cup qualifiers, let’s see what the coming months will bring.

My Verdict: pretty strong and decent squad.

    Dear Coach Rohr,

After the World Cup, I had to swallow my pride and admit in this forum that I was wrong for supporting your decision to field Ighalo ahead of others at the World Cup.

Now you are at it again!

Ighalo, Onazi and the guy who is in semi retirement in Saudi Arabia are prominent on your list.

This time, I won’t stick my neck out for you sir.

I had already started clamouring for your replacement but was advised by some well meaning Nigerians in this forum to forget the World Cup disapointment.

Hope you know what you are doing sir.

    Yours,
    Bomboy

Just 6 mid fielders (with Onazi & Joel Obi who will be minus if they have not improve from world cup form), 8 defenders and 7 attackers. 352 or 442 formation may not work may be 433 with Iwobi droping to the mid field. Good luck against Seychelles

Moses Simeon should be in the mix.. Odion ighalo just got Lucky to be in the list…

  • matsho 3 months ago

Moses Simon,Tyronne Ebuehi are both injured.Ighalo should better improve his game or forget about the national team.

  • Odion Ighalo should have been dropped the same way Brazil dropped Gabriel Jesus from their next match…if a player who is already at best average feels irreplaceable then we have a problem. Ogenyi Onazi has no place in that team in my books Ahmed Musa as well for choosing money over bettering his technique and overall game. Kudos for inviting Henry Onyekuru and Kelechi Nwakali. That made my day

Lolz…I knew it. Ighalo will be there not because of favouritism from anyone maybe coach GR or some other reasons but because Coaches work according to stats and According to statistics, Ighalo is the best striker we have abroad presently. This list is Super and in fact am lost of words to describe the coach

  • olawale david 3 months ago

Uche agbo has been playing regularly for his club while awaziem hasn’t played a single match since world cup.i don’t know wat criteria rohr is using to select his players…agbo is better on current form..dis list is nt encouraging..

  • Chairmanfemi 3 months ago

CSN and there errors! Chidozie Awaziem was part of the team to world cup. Please edit your article

The best eleven from this group in my opinion are,
    1. Uzoho
    2. Aina
    3. Idowu
    4. Ogu
    5. Ekong
    6. Balogun
    7. Musa
    8. Ndidi
    9. Iheanacho
    10.Etebo
    11.Iwobi

Though it all depends on the formation the coach is adopting in that case the line up could be altered but for a regular 4.3.3.which is how Rohr likes to shape this are the best possible eleven.

I was hoping to see musa muhammed fill the space left by tyronne and Shehu…Why is he on standby again.

i pray one of these newly defenders start ahead of bryan idowu who cant join attack, invited bunchs of defensive midfielders except nwakali and etebo…

What is this chinese product as well as tallest man who cant make use of his height advantage doing in the squad

All the best with your rookie players who dont what ot takes to be in the national jersey…

I see you winning anyways cos its a lowly ranked african team… parade this against Egypt or Senegal you go hear yourself

There we go again. This man have nothing to offers you Nigerians.
I said yesterday and some people attacked me but the truth has been revealed itself now.

With this list, and with the performance of some of these players at the world cup and the coach still believes they would deliver, expect nothing from coach Rohr but what happened at the world cup.

This man called coach Rohr will destroy Super Eagles team and it would be too late before Nigerians wake up from sleeping. Fingers crossed. God bless Nigeria!!!

Pls we need to sack this rohr.. he is killing our football.

  • Chima E Samuels 3 months ago

Musa Muhhamed as standby this coach must be drunk tell me which no2 is better than Musa and what is ighalo and akpeyi doing here? Nigeria we never learn our lessons mtchew

  • Musa mohammed has been inactive for his club.he just got a new team and he is just a back up at hk gorica,on d other hand aina has played well for torino.xo i guess dat was y d coach went with aina.d players i do not want to see is ighalo and simy i figuerd we could hav tried others but anyways nothing spoil.i also hope nwakali grabs this opportunity to stake a claim in d national team so as to replace or bench mikel obi.

  • @ chime E Samuel so Aina is not better than musa Mohammed? don’t let sentiment becloud ur sense of reasoning..meanwhile ur Nwakali as been called up let’s see how he perform at the end of the match mtchhhhhew

  • Adinoyi 3 months ago

After Ighalo’s world cup performance, I will find it difficult to believe he has something to offer the Super Eagles again. Except if he prooves me wrong this time…. Joel Obi….. Mhmmmmmm!

  • Chima E Samuels 3 months ago

Musa is way ahead of ola don’t go close high attacking full back with great crossing ability and his technique is way ahead of the rest right back in the super eagles against Athletico Madrid he proved us right and if you watch the match you’ll know what I’m talking about despite inactivity he always does well when given a chance. As for nwakali we all know his football sense hopefully he will prove us right if chosen to start or even play 10mins by our old coach Rohrgalo

    • Dr. Drey 3 months ago

I guess that’s why he’s so good that he finds it difficult to make the first team squad in every club he has joined since he moved to europe

  • Austin 3 months ago

we need more creative midfielders like chidiebere nwakali and miss Mohammed should not be on standby. akpeyi and onazi has no business in that list.

  • Michael 3 months ago

    What happened to Echiejile

  • No need to argue with u I can see u re full of sentiment.well d coach as invited whom he deem fit for the job so enough of musa Mohammed talk.

  • Philip 3 months ago

Jamilu Collins is not a centre back, but a left footer who play left back and left wing back. Very tough, warrior and skillful. A good replacement for Elder Echiejile and future of super eagle. I wish him the best in Paderborn.

    OPEN LETTER TO COACH ROHR’GALO!
    Hello mr Rohrgalo!
Your new list of invited players are strong only if the experience players who failed you live up to expectations.
After the WORLD CUP JAMBOREE IGHALO has been working extra hard scoring goals in CHINA fake league BUT he will be needing 25 games to just 4 goals when playing for NIGERIA. Can you continue to trust him goal scoring responsibility? We have new stars like Akinyimi who scores goal at the europa league with Reckless abandon! Even Eleke has great scoring TALENT but he is only on standby! Strange decision-makers!
ONAZi has been a lively servant prior to the england match and even joel obi. So their inclusion is a welcome boost and great decision. Give them one or two more chance again before abandonment!
Musa MOHAMMED has been loyal to nigeria right from u17 days. So why not help his career by promoting him and inviting him to play? Back that guy up and clubs will show him respect. Not by standby position non sense!
Nigeria should firmly invite Eberechi of QPR team in England because we need number 10s!!!! Chidi nwakali is a gifted player and number 10. Atleast FROM training sessions material to gradually move them to first team.
Akpeyi and Ezenwa inclusion are spot on! Because nigeria don’t have super goal keeper again. They are still ok and manageable!
SALISU yusuf should be replaced with a great young and loyal coach. Nigeria has progressed SALISU yusuf enough so let other ypunger intelligent persons take up THAT chance now!
Coach Rohr galo! Nigerians are watching you closely because after our WORLD CUP JAMBOREE together with ighalo we want to see complete GAME ON SUPER EAGLES.
