The President of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick has revealed Arsenal forward, Chuba Akpom and Hull City right-back, Moses Odubajo have both agreed to play for the Super Eagles when the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers begins in October, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
In an exclusive interview with Completesportsnigeria.com, Pinnick also revealed that top coaches around the world, like current Hungarian coach Bernd Storck and former Chile coach offered their services to coach the Super Eagles but got lucrative offers before they were considered.
Both Akpom and Odubajo have represented England at youth international levels.
"We have been in constant touch with Akpom, Odubajo and some other exciting players from the English Premier League who have given their consent to play for Nigeria," Pinnick told Completesportsnigeria.com.
Pinnick also added that the Super Eagles players will exhibit mental strength, patriotism and doggedness when the World Cup qualifying rounds kicks-off in October, stating that missing out on the 2018 World Cup in Russia is nonnegotiable.
"We've been working so hard in all fronts since our exit, regrettably, from 2017 AFCON and, I can assure you that we will qualify for the World Cup."
“I can now confirm to you that the Technical Committee of the NFF will be shortlisting the candidates for the Super. Eagles job on Friday July 9, 2016,” Green said.
“Also, I can confirm with all authority to you that Paul Le Guen just put in his application for for the job.
“We have also extended the application till Wednesday July 7th, for late applications.”
