Nigeria Football Federation have expressed confidence in the abilities of the men’s and women’s football teams to overcome their opponents in the second match of their respective groups here in Congo Brazzaville.
While the U-23 Eagles will take on West African rivals Ghana at the Stade de I’Unite, Kintele, the Super Falcons (pictured here training) will be at war with their East African foes, Tanzania, in the women’s category at Massamba.
Dr Mohammed Sanusi, General Secretary of NFF, was on hand on Tuesday to watch both teams train.
He told completesportsnigeria.com that he was impressed with the teams and equally confident they will conquer their opponents.
“I have watched the U-23s train with some members of the technical study group and I’m convinced with what I saw,” Sanusi told completesportsnigeria.com.
“As you can also see, we came to see how the girls are preparing and having watched from a distance, our observation is that the team is ready for the match against Tanzania.
“We believe the teams are good enough to take the gold medals at the All Africa Games.
“We are also convinced that Nigerians will have something to celebrate at the end of the competition because we’re driven by the desire to make Nigerians happy.
“All that we’re asking Nigerians is for their prayers and support because we want to win and bring smiles to their faces.”
