Newly appointed General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, Mohammed Sanusi has rebuffed reports the Glass House are interested to hire West Ham United manager, Sam Allardyce as the next Super Eagles coach.
Sanusi, speaking to the media for the first time since taking replacing Musa Amadu on Thursday, said he wasn’t aware of them wanting to hire the Englishman, and went on to claim he was only hearing that for the first time.
“Sam Allardyce? I’m not aware of that. This is the first time I’m hearing this. I tell you it is the first time I am hearing of this,” he said.
The NFF are yet to seal a deal with Stephen Keshi, weeks after offering him a contract and are yet to announce an alternative, even though the embattled NFF President, Amaju Pinnick did admit they would seek alternatives if Keshi doesn’t sign.
And despite refuting reports about hiring Sam Allardyce, he refused to give details on why Stephen Keshi is yet to sign the contract offered to him.
“On Stephen Keshi’s matter, I can’t speak about that now. I only just resumed office yesterday and I am yet to be properly briefed by the relevant departments and when that is done, I promise I will give you more information,” he stated.
