NFF Mum On Keshi’s Future

–Reveal camping dates and venue for Eaglets, Flying Eagles

Once bitten, twice shy it seems as the Nigeria Football Federation have decided to keep mum regarding the future of Super Eagles coach,Stephen Keshi.

The NFF executive committee met Wednesday night in Uyo and Keshi’s future was not on the agenda and this may have been informed by events that followed the sacking of the coach last month which did not go down well with some top people in government including President Goodluck Jonathan who ordered for the reinstatement of the former Nigeria captain.

Instead the NFF executive committee, through its communique at the end of the meeting apologised to Nigerians for the ouster of the Super Eagles from next year’s Africa Cup of Nations and resolved resolved collectively to accept full responsibility for the mishap and called for patience and understanding of Nigerians while it pursued the cause of building a sustainable football culture for the country, and also work hard at engineering a resurgence of the
National Teams through well –thought programmes and processes.

The committee also announced dates for the opening of camps for the national U-17 team, the Golden Eaglets who will be competing in the 11th African U-17 Championship taking place next February in Niger Republic and the Flying Eagles who will be conducting screening towards the 19th African Youth Championship taking place in Senegal next March.
