By Johnny Edward: Reigning African Women’s Footballer of the Year, Asisat Oshoala, will perform the significant ringing of the bell at the closing of business at the Nigeria Stock Exchange on Friday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
It is the second time in history that the Nigeria Stock Exchange would offer a Nigeria football figure such a gesture, after former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh in 2015.
According to a media statement released by the NSE, Oshoala is honoured for her outstanding contribution to the Nigerian sports industry.
The NSE closing gong ceremony is a unique platform that aligns with the global tradition where stock exchanges invite business leaders of quoted companies and select individuals who have contributed significantly to the development of their economy.
“I’m happy about this obviously and I hope to continue helping the needy through my foundation,” Oshoala told CSN.
Oshoala had a stellar debut season in China with Dalian Quanjian, winning the Women’s Chinese Super League and Cup title.
She also scored 12 goals to finish as the top scorer in the Women’s Chinese Super League and was named the league’s best player.
