The Nigeria U-23 side will meet Congo Brazzaville in the third round of the 2016 Olympic qualifiers.
The Congolese defeated the Black Meteors of Ghana 4-3 on penalties in the second leg played on Sunday after regulation time ended 1-0 in favour of Congo. Ghana won the first leg 1-0.
Nigeria will now take on Congo in July with the winner in both legs progressing for the Africa U-23 Championship which comes up later in the year in Senegal from 28 November to 12 December. The tournament serves as the qualifiers for Rio 2016.
The U-23s, coached by Samson Siasia, had earlier qualified for this year's All Africa Games in Brazzaville after seeing off Zambia 2-1 on aggregate.
In another Olympic qualifier that was decided also on Sunday, Cameroun were surprisingly knocked out by Sierra Leone after they were held 1-1 at home.
The first leg which was also played in Yaounde last weekend due to the ebola epidemic, ended 0-0.
