Nigerian Henty Joins Hungary’s Videoton From Lokomotiv Moscow

By James Agberebi:

Hungarian top flight club and UEFA Europa League campaigners, Videoton, have signed Nigerian forward Ezekiel Henty on a three-year deal from Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow for an undisclosed fee.

Videoton made the announcement on their official website on Wednesday.

“Lokomotiv Moscow and Videoton FC have agreed on the transfer of Ezekiel Henty on Wednesday,” Videoton wrote on their official website.

“Henty has signed a 3-year deal and will wear the number 21 shirt.

“The Nigerian forward was born on the 13th May 1993 in Lagos. He started his playing career with Flying Sports Academy, but moved at a young age to AC Milan and their youth system.

“There were loan moves to Spezia, Perugia, ND Gorica and Olimpija Ljubjana. The latter club eventually made that loan permanant. He spent a short time working together with Marko Nikolic while the two were in the Slovenian capital club.

“A successful spell in Ljubjana earned him a move in February 2016 to Russian first division side Lokomotiv Moscow. He most recently spent a half year on loan with Emirates club Baniyas SC. The 185cm tall well built forward played in 45 Slovenian first division games, which brought 14 goals and 10 assists.

“There were 12 matches in the Emirates that saw five goals scored and a further 17 in the Russian first division and six in the Serie B, which both resulted in a goal each.”

Commenting on his move to Videoton, Henty said: “I am pleased to be here. Videoton FC are a club with big traditions and a very good club. They are among the top sides in Hungary. I have a good relationship with Marko Nikolic after working together with him at Olimpija Ljubljana. Not only as a coach but also as a person do I consider him positively.

“With regards to the other players in the squad, I know Krisztian Tamas from AC Milan and also Danko Lazovic. I do not know too much about Hungarian football but I want to get to know it as soon as possible.

“If I have to briefly describe myself, I am a player that will do everything for the team and try to score as many goals as possible.”

Videoton will welcome Estonian club Nomme Kalju in the second leg, UEFA Europa League second qualifying round clash on Thursday.

In the first leg played last Thursday, Videoton won 3-0.
