Gombe United and Katsina United secured promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League on the final day of action in the Nigeria National League, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
In Abuja, Gombe United who were relegated from NPFL last season, made a prompt return to the top flight following a 3-1 away win against Supreme Court FC at the Area 3 Football Pitch.
The Savanah Scorpions who were relegated to the Nigeria National League last season beat their closest rivals Dreams FC, who defeated FC Zamfara 1-0 in Gusau to the ticket.
The trio of Oba Sasem, Bilya Yarma, and Sani Gidado scored the goals for Hassan Abubakar's men.
Gombe finished on 28 points, one more than Dreams who are financed by former Nigeria international Dominic Iorfa.
Katsina United also booked their return to the NPFL following a 14-year hiatus after edging out Katsina United 1-0 at home.
The side bankrolled by former president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Abdulmumini Aminu, beat Mighty Jets to the ticket.
Jets who top the Division A1 standings going into the weekend matches fell 3-1 against Jigawa Golden Stars in Dutse.
The two clubs will campaign in the NPFL next season alongside Remo Stars who picked their promotion ticket after a 2-0 win against COD United last weekend.
